Penguin Book- Talking turkeys - typography
For the back cover I started to try and the blurb and quote how I wrote the title, however, I think it was unsuccessful. I think the quote from the book looks fitting in that style but taking in account the description of the book, it looks messy and not very professional. When I develop this typography idea I will keep the quote from the book the same but make sure the description looks more professional.
Using this font, you can already tell how much of a negative impact the previous typography had on the back. Although, this version looks so much better I still think this font is too playful.
I prefer this font to the previous however it still feels like it doesn't fit to the page. It looks too formal for a children's book. I think the difficulty of using type on the back is that the white illustrations I have drew distract the viewers eyes. To prevent this from happening I decided to turn down the white illustrations opacity even further.
I think that this font is more suitable than any of the previous ones, this one is the most playful while not being overly childish. However, I think the font size needs to be a bit bigger for the page. I will develop that further when I use the right proportions on the book cover.
