One day project- Objects that got me through lockdown

Originally, I started my illustrations in watercolour. I used quick brush strokes and realistic colours on the painting and added splashes of colours. I ended up not liking how this experiment turned out and wanted to do something completely different.

I decided to completely change my original idea and produce a digital piece of art instead. I wanted to show my objects in a first person view, as if I'm looking at them. My chosen objects were talking to my mum on Facetime, looking after plants a lovely cup of tea and thinking to myself what my dad would have done in lockdown and how he would tell me to keep being positive. I wanted a bright, warm illustration to represent how I felt towards my objects and I stuck with only a small colour palette to connect each object together.
