Initial drawings when reading the poems again

These ink and watercolour responses to the my thumbnail designs. I think the realistic drawings of the turkeys are very successful. However, moving forward I will start to develop my ideas but using a more illustrative design. I think the ideas I have come up with are okay but I am planning on experimenting more with other poems to see if those developments would be better. 

Response to the poem "Talking Turkeys" 

I was very inspired by the poem "Over De Moon" so I wanted to attempt a response to it. I wanted to show the perspective of the man on the moon. I added a space shuttle on the drawing to show that the man has a lot of technology as a way of explaining the poem. I think the detail I added to the moon is really effective. However, I'm not a big fan of how the earth turned out. I think the colours are too muted and need to stand out a lot more than how it is now.
