One Day Project- How to prepare a favourite meal

 Initial Ideas 

I wanted the recipe to prepare a meal to be instructional while still being a fun drawing to look at. I decided to choose a soup because I thought that would have enough ingredients to put in the method to make it interesting.

Originally I was just going to have only one bowl at the bottom with all of the ingredients pouring in however the recipe uses 3 different cooking implements and when I added them with the bowl it brought the sketch to life. 

Final Piece 

I titled this recipe "Soup fit for a Chef" because of the character who's eating the soup. Overall, this is a really successful design and I think the pencil brush I used while drawing this gave the effect of an old fashioned menu. So to add to this playful design I made the background colour a muted cream colour and when writing the recipe I made sure to use the same pencil brush. I think the muted tones throughout this illustration shows my conscious ability to tie the theme of the style I wanted to use with the colours.
