Gardening- self-sustaining garden 

To link to both connecting the community and a sustainable future I am interested in the idea of using knowledge to benefit both generations. My idea would be to organise a function where the seniors who know about gardening can teach the youth how to grow their own vegetables. This is a way to pass on knowledge while encouraging sustainability and buying less food from supermarkets. I think that this allows the older generation to feel more comfortable talking to the youth and feel like they have more of a purpose.

I think teaching how to cook the younger generation is a good idea mainly because it's a way to pass on healthy, well-balanced recipes that the child/teenager might have never tried. I think this could be sustainable because it is teaching the youth that you can have a nice tasting meal and it still being healthy. 

A way I could expand on this idea further is if the seniors and teenagers work together to give back to the community by making a simple and easier meal and then serving it to families that need the extra support. This way the older and younger generation feel like they're making an impact on the community. They have a reason to carry on giving back to society.
